Criteria

EBMI Foundation – Supporting Education Through Scholarships

Established in 1991, the Electrical Board Foundation provides Industry Scholarship Awards to EBMI members and their immediate families — helping them pursue higher education and career advancement.

How the Program is Funded

  • Fundraisers at GOLFfest, Sportsman’s Holiday, and the Christmas Mixer
  • Member donations during annual dues payments
  • Memorial and honorary contributions in recognition of loved ones

All donations — big or small — directly support scholarships and are tax-deductible. EBMI acknowledges all donors and includes many in our FLASH newsletter.

Thanks to generous support, EBMI has increased both the number and value of scholarships:

  • Originally: 5 scholarships at $500 each
  • Now: Scholarships valued at $2,000 each

Donor Levels:

  • Friends of EBMI Foundation: $1–$249
  • Bronze: $250–$999
  • Silver: $1,000–$1,499
  • Gold: $1,500+

Bronze, Silver, and Gold donors are recognized at the EBMI Awards Luncheon and in the FLASH newsletter.

Gold Level

  • Friends of Michael A. Postiglione (in memory of Mike)
  • Rolf & Ilona Albers
  • Dean & Nedra Klohr (in memory of Esther Sanders)

Silver Level

  • Electrical Representatives Organization (ERO)
  • Schaeffer Marketing Group

Bronze Level

Application

Scholarship Eligibility & Application

Are you a member of EBMI, WEB, or ECMC? If so — and you've held your membership for at least one year and are in good standing as of December 1st — you may be eligible to apply for our Industry Scholarship Awards!

These scholarships are available to children or spouses of qualified members. It’s a great opportunity to support your family’s educational goals.

How to Apply

  1. Confirm Your Membership
    Contact the EBMI office to verify your membership status.
  2. Request an Application
    Only EBMI members are eligible. Reach out to us to receive your application.
  3. Submit by January 18th
    Email your completed application to annie@electricalboard.org. You’ll receive a confirmation once it’s been received.

Electrical Board Foundation Scholarship Program

Since its founding in 1991, the Electrical Board Foundation has proudly supported the educational goals of EBMI members and their immediate families through its Industry Scholarship Awards. This initiative reflects our commitment to investing in the future of the electrical industry by helping our community pursue higher education.

The Scholarship Program is made possible through a variety of fundraising efforts, including:

  • Jackpot Sales and Contests at EBMI events such as GOLFfest, Sportsman’s Holiday, and the Christmas Mixer
  • Member Contributions during annual dues payments
  • Memorial and Honorary Donations recognizing loved ones who were active in the electrical industry or EBMI
Young Electrician

All donations—large or small—play a vital role in helping us expand the number and value of scholarships awarded each year. Contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible, and EBMI ensures donors are acknowledged through letters and mentions in our FLASH newsletter.

Donation Recognition Levels

In 2021, the EBMI Foundation Board updated the donor recognition levels to better honor the generosity of our supporters:

  • Friends of EBMI Foundation: $1 – $249
  • Bronze Level: $250 – $999
  • Silver Level: $1,000 – $1,499
  • Gold Level: $1,500 and above

Donors at the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels receive special recognition at our Awards Luncheon and in the FLASH newsletter.

Scholarship Growth Over the Years

Thanks to the unwavering support of our members and donors, the scholarship program has grown significantly:

  • 1991: 5 scholarships of $500 each
  • 2022: Scholarships increased to $1,500
  • 2025: Scholarships now valued at $2,000 each

This growth is a testament to the generosity and dedication of our EBMI community.
